Recent media coverage has highlighted the potential environmental damage that a proposed inter-oceanic canal portends. Evidence, however, is mounting that this improbable project will not go forward. Patterns of deforestation show a steady march of the agricultural frontier as non-indigenous colonists claim land for cultivation. All of this is occurring under the apparently blind-eye gaze of the ministry of the environment MARENA and the army, the two governmental entities with jurisdiction to enforce relevant laws.

Undoubtedly, enforcement of environmental and indigenous law is hampered by limited financial resources in Nicaragua, one of the poorest countries in the Western Hemisphere. However, some Nicaraguan scientists have suggested that an aggressively extractivist orientation is the prevailing political current. If so, it may be costly and inconvenient to protect biological diversity when the land that harbors it might instead be exploited. In fact, the Nicaraguan government seems to be committed to promoting extractivist economic activities.

Whether justified or not, there is an air of lawlessness and free-wheeling-and-dealing that first arose with news of the canal proposal. Nice folks. Knowledgeable and friendly. Would love to visit again. We were riding through on our way to Deadwood and stayed a night in Gillette.

So on the way home we decided to go back at least half the way the same. The place did not disappoint. Thank you for your nice feedback.

I really enjoyed visiting with you guys, thanks for making the trip back! Thought there would be more to this. Not much of an antique store and overpriced on what they have. Actual museum in back had some cool things if you like Hudson cars and primarily Hudson cars. Saw one Nash, but expected a bigger variety.

From cursed treasure to British warplanes: the buried mysteries of Myanmar

Overkill on gas pumps and neon signs. Definitely would not take little kids here. I greatly apologize for your disappointing experience.

This is a two-part review: The front part of the store is the antique section where you can purchase antiques.

The second part of the store is the museum. They have lots of nice things, a lot of things overpriced as far as antiques go. The museum is nice for car enthusiasts, but you have to pay admission per person to see the museum part. This is misleading because you have to go in through the antique store to get to the museum and there aren't any signs saying this when you walk in. We apologize that you didn't enjoy your experience in our museum.

When we first opened we had admission signs posted at our front door which confused people that it cost to enter the store, so we moved the signs inside.
